Old Point Custom Homes was founded by Joe Frank Porter who has over 25 years of building experience. For seventeen years Joe was the manager of the American Wood Council’s Idea House Program. While serving in this position, Joe oversaw projects for such publications as Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living, Southern Living, House Beautiful and Colonial Homes.

All in all, Joe’s extensive building experience spans over 75 “Idea Home” projects in almost all major US cities. After completing work with the Coastal Living Idea Home at Habersham in 2001, Joe and his family decided to relocate to Beaufort from Memphis.
